whimsy wednesday: april 8
how i'm chasing whimsy this week
Greetings, fellow whimsy-chasers! How are we all feeling as the dust settles on Q1? I’m stepping into April feeling wonderfully accomplished. I finally finished The Artist’s Way for the first time (a long-awaited creative homecoming), and I am thriving now that I’m officially set up to volunteer at the local animal shelter. Between crossing off some high-energy squares on my 2026 bingo card and chasing whimsy with total abandon, my cup is overflowing. I am also awaiting big news on the education front, but keeping a level head about it.
But back to the point of it all. Finishing The Artist’s Way reminded that whimsy isn’t just something that happens to you—it’s something you have to actively invite in (which is what we have been doing together all year so far!). It’s a practice of keeping your eyes wide for the small wonders. To keep that creative pilot light flickering as we kick off Q2, I’m leaning into the play of it all.
Here are some ways I am chasing whimsy this week:
Finally starting my adult ballet class.
Buying a fun statement eye shadow stick or eyeliner.
Getting a fun alt haircut from a new stylist I found.
Doing evening chores by candlelight instead of the big light.
Making cold brew tea concoctions (inspired by Abril ⭐️)
